I've used one of those little scrapers with a razor blade on wood paneling and enamel paint. First, I cleaned the area with an old wash cloth soaked in hot water. Then, I scraped off the wet tape..very carefully. You don't want to dig into your wall and ruin it. I've also been able to remove some of that spongy double sided tape with just hot water and my thumb nail.
